What makes you feel nourished?
For me, it’s definitely a big green smoothie!
Making a smoothie is one of the easiest ways to pack in a plethora of nourishing ingredients. I LOVE to take it up a notch and turn it into a smoothie bowl by adding some whole pieces of fruit, ground seeds, and nut butters for that extra bit of sustenance and texture.
For this bowl, I particularly focused on including omega-3 ingredients to nourish the nervous system and brain (thank you, chia and flaxseeds!).
Here is my favorite go-to smoothie bowl recipe that will help you feel good and get your day going on the right foot!
RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
Smoothie bowl:
1 cup frozen mango
1 frozen banana, sliced
4 large kale leaves
1/4 cup almond milk (plus more if needed)
optional: plant-based protein powder
Toppings:
1/2 or 1 banana, sliced
1/2 apple, chopped
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds
a drizzle of your nut butter of choice (I chose roasted almond butter, YUM)
INSTRUCTIONS
Blend all smoothie bowl ingredients until smooth. Use a tamper to help it blend if possible, otherwise add a little bit more milk and stop the blender to mix it every couple of seconds.Scoop/pour the smoothie into a bowl and add your toppings.
