It's the most wonderful time of the year... hot chocolate season!
This recipe is my healthy yet insanely delicious take on this winter classic. Best of all, it's easy to make! It's made with only five simple ingredients: cacao powder, creamy oat milk, unrefined sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
Are you ready?
1 cup unsweetened plant milk (I like oat or hazelnut milk for this recipe)
3 teaspoons raw cacao powder (cocoa powder works too)
1/2 tablespoon maple syrup (add more or less depending on your liking)
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch of salt
On medium heat in a small saucepan, whisk together all ingredients except the vanilla extract. Stir often and remove from heat when it starts to bubble. Stir in the vanilla extract, serve in a mug, and enjoy!
