Progress > Perfection
What have you delayed starting because you’re afraid you won’t be perfect at it?
For me, I’m learning to embrace the idea that
1. Growth isn’t linear.
2. Mistakes are opportunities to learn.
3. Taking time to rest while going after a dream/starting something new is okay and actually helps the process.
4. The journey can be EXCITING and FUN if I choose to see the positives in it.
I’m no longer expecting myself to be perfect, which gives me the freedom to try, “fail,” or succeed at anything without judgement.
I encourage you to decide on one new thing that you’d like to try this week and do it without the fear of failure.
Know that the act of trying is an accomplishment within itself. You’re choosing to put in the effort to explore and progress in a certain area of your life, whatever that may be.
Use these affirmations to help support you in your journey of squashing perfectionist tendencies:
🌟 It doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
🌟 I am enough and already worthy.
🌟 I am a work-in-progress.
🌟 I am a human being, not a human doing.
🌟 I will give myself grace when I make a mistake.
🌟 I value learning more than being right.
🌟 I choose to enjoy the process, and not just focus on the outcome.
Much love,
Beth
