Because if you’re always looking back, you’ll never discover the treasures that lie ahead.
One of the biggest things holding many of my clients back is their grip on the past. Things that could have been, what was lost, what labels they were given by someone, how they once felt, how things used to be, etc.
I get it. I’ve been there myself. But the merry-go-round of dwelling on and analyzing the past doesn’t get you anywhere except perpetually stuck in a low vibrational state.
There’s a difference between thinking about the past and living in it. We tend to live in the past (or spend a vast majority of time there) when we’re unhappy with where we presently are in life. Whether it be trying to find answers to our current situation, or because we’re clinging onto the past because we’re afraid of the future - living in the past robs you the opportunity to enjoy and benefit from all that is around you in the present that often goes unnoticed.
It’s only human to go back in time in your head for a bit, and sometimes it’s nice to reminisce about happy memories from the past. But the moment is NOW - it is the only thing that exists right here right now. The past and the future only exist in our heads.
Remember: the present is the only place where we truly have the power to make a difference in our lives.
Onwards and upwards. You have a beautiful life out there to live!
